Physical Education
This essential part of the curriculum aims to help pupils to perform with increasing skill all athletic, dance, games, swimming and outdoor and adventurous activities undertaken. We are an active member of the Redcar and Eston School Sports Partnership so children regularly have the opportunity to represent the school in a variety of sports and earn points for the school in the competition league. See the link below for more information.

School Sport Premium Funding
The government is providing funding to schools so that we can improve our PE and Sports provision. The funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary school Head teachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.
Purpose of the funding
All schools have to spend the sport funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but there is freedom to choose how we do it. At Green Gates Primary School we recognise the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of the children. In addition, we believe that an innovative and varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all children.
Take a look at the documents below to see how we have spent the funding previously and how we intend to spend it this coming year. You will see that our planned expenditure is linked to our action plan.
